The map above shows the locations of the multiple concentration and extermination camps that took place. The location of the various death camps gave Hitler a confident level of official privacy in the management of mass murder. Auschwitz, which started in 1942, was situated because of its location at the intersection of popular railroad lines. The railroads acted as major pathways to the death camps running from all parts of occupied Europe. Every day, Jews from all different countries were sent off, and later killed. This map helped us to realize the amount of concentration and extermination camps took place and where they were in relation to each other.
